Planning Department

The Planning Department is under the umbrella of the Department of Community Development and is specifically authorized by the Municipal Planning Code to operate in conjunction with, or in place of, the Planning Commission. South Middleton Township has both a Planning Department and a Planning Commission.

Subdivision and Land Development

Subdivision and Land Development plans are processed and reviewed through the Planning Department. Each plan is examined in detail to ensure that the plan complies with the Township Ordinances regarding Zoning and Subdivision & Land Development. Where appropriate, department staff ensures that approvals from other State, County, and local agencies are obtained by applicants before plans receive final approval. All Subdivision

and Land Development Plans submitted to the Township are reviewed by the Planning Department for compliance with Township Ordinances.
