1. Where do I go to pay my water/sewer bill?

Water and sewer bills can be paid at the Municipal Authority located at:
345 Lear Lane
Boiling Springs, PA 17007

2. How can I get a new trash/recycling bin or more tags?

You will have to call Advanced Disposal at 717-243-1692 or 1-800-338-8971 in order to receive a new trash/recycling bin or tags. The township does not sell trash tags.

4. Is open burning permitted in the Township?

The South Middleton Township Fire Prevention and Safety Code Ordinance 2017-03 prohibits open burning other than for cooking food and normal agricultural operations.

5. Who do I call about a dead animal on the road?

If it is a township road, you will call the game commission at 814-643-1831 and if it is a state road you will have to call Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) at 717-243-5414.

6. How can I get a sticker for the Compost Site?

You can receive a pass for the Compost Site at our office building located at 520 Park Drive. You will need to know the license plate and make, model and year of the vehicle you will be using. You can also submit your application via:

7. Where can I get a dog license?

You can receive a dog license from the Courthouse, Holly Pharmacy and Knisley’s. Parks and Recreation will also have dog licenses from January through early April.

8. What building projects do not need a permit?

The following projects do not need a permit:

• Paving driveways same size
• Re-roofing (roof material only)
• Sidewalk
• Siding
• Window re-placement (same size)

9. Does South Middleton Township have a noise ordinance?

South Middleton Township does not have a noise ordinance.

10. How often do I need to get my septic tank pumped?

According to the On-Lot Septic Ordinance 2000-02, septic tanks need to be pumped every three (3) years.

11. How do I apply for a permit for a septic tank?

The On-Lot Sewage Permit Application is available at the Township Office, located at 520 Park Drive, and must be filled out at the office. For questions or concerns, contact the Sewage Enforcement Officer, Vince Elbel, at 717-263-6120.
